what to expect
Here's a basic outline of a normal service at JC3 which usually lasts around one hour:
Music: Music has always been a way that the church remembers and celebrates God's relationship with people. Our great band plays both new and old songs meant to inspire thankfulness. Feel free to join in singing or simply listen to the message of each song.
Prayer and Offering: We spend time praying for our friends during this time. Many people choose to fill out "Prayer Cards" which are located at each seat. When one of these is dropped in an offering plate or tithe box, we mail them out. The offering is taken at this time, too. Our members give as a part of their personal worship to God. The decision whether or not to give is completely up to each individual. Please feel no pressure to give. If you'd like to understand more about giving, then pick up a free copy of "Plastic Donuts" at our Information Desk. It's a simple guide to understand this act of worship.
Lord's Supper or "Communion": We celebrate Jesus every week by participating in the Lord's Supper (a small piece of unleavened bread and cup of juice). This is the last meal that Jesus shared with his disciples, and he asked them to eat it and remember him. The early Christians held the meal regularly, so we do the same.
Message or "Sermon": Each week, one of our ministers delivers a message based upon a passage from the Bible. We take time to remember why these words were written and what the significance is for us today. We reason that if God created life, then he knows the best way for us to experience it!
We're working on a more complete video of our worship service, but until it's ready, you can check out a taste of our time of music by clicking HERE.
