Family Life Ministry

We are thrilled to announce the launch of a new ministry! “Family Life” is for moms and dads in the midst of starting or raising a family. We meet each Sunday beginning at 9:30am in the Multipurpose Room with food, fun and fellowship. The first 6-week study will be, “ I Said This, You Heard That”. Books can be purchased Sundays in the MPR for $10.

Fall Festival

KidsWay and the “Fun” Committee will be hosting a Fall Festival for our church and members of our community. This will be an amazing event for friends and family. The day will be filled with fall fun, food, and festivities. The Fall Festival will be held on Saturday, Nov 9th, at the New Market Park from 10AM -2PM. Volunteers and donations are needed to make this event successful.

One fun part of this Festival will be"Jeff County’s Got Talent." If you're interested in competing, please sendan audition tape along with your contact information to on or before October 30th. The tape should be no longer than 2 minutes. The selection committee will pick the top 10 contestants to complete at the Fall Festival beginning at 11:00AM. Winners will be announced at 1:30PM. The top 3 contestants will receive prizes.

1st place - $100 gift card

2nd place - $50 gift card

3rd place - $25 gift card

Boomers & Shakers

Next Trip – Thursday, October 24, Metcalf Bottoms: Plan to leave the church at 10:00am (pitch-in brunch at picnic area). Metcalf Bottoms trail is 1.2 miles (not strenuous but ascent & descent both directions; 100ft. Total elevation) and approximately 1 hour hike both directions. If you have not filled out the “online directory permission form,” you will not be included in either online directory. But don’t worry – you can still do that anytime! You can find them here (census form, image release, online permission form) OR you can fill them out at the Information Desk. Hearing-Assistance at JCCC!

Assistive Listening devices are available for those who need aid hearing the sermon. Please bring your own headphones/earbuds that have a traditional 3.5mm headphone jack. Speak to our sound technician at the sound booth in the back of the sanctuary to check out a device.

KidsWay Wednesday Night Classes

The evening schedule is as follows:

6:15pm– Arrive & check in

6:20pm– Dinner ($2 per student; $3 for dinner & childcare per student) is served & classes begin

6:20-7:30pm– Classes resume for nursery –5th grade

7:30-8:15pm– For the parents who are attending small groups, KidsWay will offer an “enrichment time” where kids can either attend a quiet time/movie room or a study hall to complete their homework. Parents– if you do not attend a small group, the pick up time for your child is 7:30pm.

Wednesday Night Menus for October: 16—meatballs, mac & cheese, grapes; 23—chicken bites, apple sauce, carrots & ranch; 30—pizza, carrots & ranch

Volunteers Needed

Sunday mornings @ 9:30 – Nursery 1 (bed babies); Nursery 2 (they're walking!) – 2nd & 4th Sundays of each month

Sunday mornings @ 11:00 – Junior Church leader for 3rd - 5th graders (on a bi-monthly rotation) & 4s & 5s class.

Our KidsWay department has T-shirts available for purchase in the Welcome Area downstairs. There are multiple sizes available and the cost is $8 for 2XLs, $6 for all other sizes.


Deeper Life

Our DL groups meet every Sunday morning at 9:30am in the Youth Loft.


“Lighthouse”: Our Wednesday night programming for our youth group meets from 6:15-8pm in the Multi-Purpose Room. Dinner ($2/ person) is served at 6:15pm followed by worship and a service. October schedule: 16– Sr. High J-Walks; 23– Jr. High J-Walks; 30– Corn Maze

Wednesday Classes

  • We are thrilled to have Dr. Rafael Rodriguez of Johnson University return for a unique series: Jesus Darkly. The series will be based on his recently published book of the same name. JC3 University is our environment for those of you who enjoy an academic setting for Bible study. Join us at 6:30 PM on Wednesdays.
  • Women's Class will be studying Beth Moore's Esther: It's Tough Being a Woman.
  • Small Groups

    Our Small Groups meet in homes, restaurants and at the church. Different groups have different goals. Some study a book of the Bible while some gather to encourage each other during a particular season of life. Email if you are interested in joining or helping start a Small Group.

    Donations needed for Fall Festival

    Craft Supplies: Large popsicle sticks, Narrow and wide rubber bands, Wiggle eyes, Fabric (Any, but fall color and pattern good), Craft glue, Scrapbook paper (patterns on both sides)

    Food: Cookies, brownies, any sweet treats that can be individually packaged (please let us know what and how many so we can plan accordingly)

    Christmas is coming!

    If you’re interested in participating in the Christmas Eve services, we are having a brief informational meeting following second service on October 20th. We’re looking for volunteers willing to sing, read, and work in the sound/light booth. All ages welcome! Contact Stephanie to let her know you plan to come. Thanks!

    Worship Team

    Join our Worship Team Family! The following positions are needed: Musician – any instrument; Backing Vocalist – ability to harmonize is a plus; Sound Booth – we’ll show you the ropes; Crow’s Nest - using our slideshow & video software as well as switching between light settings – very user-friendly.     Welcome & Security Team

    We are needing folks who are willing to serve on Sunday mornings helping with things such as greeting, handing out bulletins, helping direct visitors to classrooms and also helping with our building security. If you are interested in serving in any of these areas, please sign up below.

  • Will & Rachel Stokes’ twin boys were born Sept 30th. All are home and doing well. Praise!
  • Please keep Betty Bowlin in your prayers. She is currently in the Alzheimer's Unit at Erwin Health Care Center in Erwin, TN. Please pray that they will have a bed for her soon at a much closer facility so that we will be able to visit her more frequently and possibly be able to bring her to church.
  • Prayers are requested for Michelle Ballard’s father, John Blonder. They just found out that he has liver cancer which has also spread to his hip. He has had a metal rod placed in his hip to help strengthen it. Treatment for the cancer will start once his hip heals.
  • Please be praying for Iva Foister, a friend of Barbie Dyer’s. She had been admitted to the hospital with pneumonia, blood pressure issues and a possible heart attack. Prayer cards are appreciated.
